Linguist and amateur ornithologist from Britain, based in Hong Kong since 1990. Now semi-retired, I may be available to guide visitors to Hong Kong on an amateur basis, or alternatively I can recommend a good professional guide. I can be reached at matthewshku@gmail.com
Among my 'contributions' to Orniverse, about 60 are original site descriptions, usually based on at least two visits. I have tried to aim the site descriptions at an intermediate birder, in terms of experience and expertise, in the hope that there will be something of interest to most readers.
In the remaining cases I have added details or photos, or have aimed to contribute as a linguist, through light editing of English spelling, grammar and bird names.
