As a former production saltpond the site still has a lot of the low rockwalls deviding the pond in parcels. These are excelent perches for all kinds af waterbirds when the water level is low enough for the walls to just protrude from the water.

• are most sought-after by birdwatchers at this site
• and are relatively easy to see at this site (year-round or seasonally)

The waterlevel has to be low enough for the rockwalls to stick out from the water.

At present that is rare, since the waterpumnps controlling the waterlevel are not working.
