About me:
Pavel Simeonov is a professional musician who loves birds. Now Pavel is among the leading Bulgarian naturalists and ornithologists and one of the founders of Branta-Tours Birdwatching Company. He is the general manager of Bed & Birding concept. Pavel is also an enthusiastic photographer. He provides most of the photographs to promote the top Bulgaria birding locations, including Coastal Dobrogea region and Durankulak Lake PA.
Being actively involved with conservation programmes at national and international level Pavel is able to provide a wealth of background information on wildlife matters. His sharp-eyed vigilance and knowledge of the best wildlife destinations ensures a magical and fulfilling experience from start to finish. He has conducted numerous trips as a bird-guide and tour-leader throughout Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Croatia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Ukraine, Russia, Norway, and Southern France, including Corsica .
Qualified as an international expert on biodiversity conservation projects Pavel is also the founder of "Le Balkan – Bulgaria" non-profit organization. He is involved in numerous monitoring studies on the autumn migration of soaring birds on the “Via Pontica” flyway, several management projects on globally threatened species including Red-breasted Goose and Dalmatian Pelican, mid-winter counts of water birds and raptors and many other international activities for the development of the eco-tourism concept. Pavel is also operating Branta Birding Lodge & Conservation Centre that is based in the epicenter of the Red-breasted Geese wintering quarters in north-eastern Bulgaria. He is speaking Bulgarian, fluent French and English, and fairly well Russian. His good command of the Russian language is of great advantage in organizing and leading birdwatching trips throughout Belarus and other former Soviet bloc countries.
