About me:
My interest in birds was begun by my Grandmother when I was about 2 to 10 years old in what was then Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe). Margaret Snell (Gangan to me) was a respected Ornithologist who wrote papers https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/00306525.1963.9633469 . Later when I was 11, or so, I remember her coming to Suffolk and identifying bird songs or different Warblers for me, I was so impressed, I thought she was only from Africa. I am not great on seabirds but love raptors, partly because I can spot them from my motorbike. I love Iberia and particularly Northern Spain where I have had success with a week-long '5 Eagles Tour' to see all 5 Iberian Eagles. I have a mini-bird reserve on my property in Aberystwyth, Wales (67 species and 22 nesting species recorded). I have had a Tawny Owl land on my head when Badger watching in Selborne and relish every contact with the natural world. I am happy to use any means of transport to reach and explore places of interest.
