About me:
My journey as a birder started with curiosity, but over the years it has grown into a deep passion for nature, conservation, and exploration. I am a Kenyan birder and citizen scientist with over six years of experience exploring different landscapes, documenting birdlife, and contributing to the Kenya Bird Map.
For me, birding is more than simply identifying species. It is about waking up before sunrise, walking through unfamiliar landscapes, listening to the calls around me, and experiencing the excitement of finding a bird I have never seen before. Every expedition brings a new story, a new lesson, and sometimes a lifer that makes all the long walks worthwhile.
Through bird mapping, eBird, and BirdLasser, I have been fortunate to contribute to the understanding of Kenya's bird distribution while exploring some incredible places. I am also passionate about sharing this experience with young people and encouraging them to discover the beauty of birding and conservation.
I believe every bird has a story to tell, and every birder has a role to play in protecting the places where those stories unfold. My goal is not only to see more birds, but to inspire others to look, listen, explore, and become part of the conservation story.
