I have known Fansu for over 10 years now and from our first meeting we have always done our birding together mainly in Gambia but also occasional visits to Senegal both north and south. Fansu always caters for you to the highest standards, his care and consideration is exceptional from providing essentials for days out to punctuality and just being there for you. His knowledge is second to none on the birds in The Gambia and he has also done numerous Osprey surveys for me over the last few years keeping me up to date on known birds wintering in The Gambia. Fansu has an excellent vehicle to take you to your chosen destinations and I can guarantee you will have a wonderful time with him, wether it be a half day or several days upriver discovering the numerous areas for birding.

Fansu has guided me on 3 previous occasions when I have been birding in The Gambia. He has designed some first class itineraries for me, both for coastal birding and also longer tours to the interior of the country. I would whole heartedly recommend Fansu if you are planning a trip to Gambia - he possesses exceptional knowledge of the birds and where to find them. Importantly, he is reliable, punctual and great company, and will work with great patience to achieve targets be they rare species for sightings or photographic opportunities.

Over the years I have found Fansu to be an outstanding wildlife guide and birder - he simply sees and hears birds I don't. He has a 4x4 vehicle and does day trips but also bespoke multi-day trips to suit your needs. Fansu is well respected in The Gambia, speaks fluent English and, like all the best guides around the world, knows exactly where to take you for particular species. Highly Recommended.

I've been guided by Fansu for about 5 years, both on the coast and also upcountry. He's also taken me to both north and south Senegal. He goes on research trips to new areas out of the tourist season. His ear for birds is excellent, as is his eyesight. He is knowledgeable about other wildlife. My particular interest is Ospreys, and he has a first rate knowledge of places that are, or might be, worth visiting. He will listen carefully to any particular 'tick list' you may have, and tailor proposals accordingly. Fansu is very considerate, supplying water and fruit, and makes sure his clients are happy. I've used a couple of other guides when Fansu hasn't been available, but he would be my first choice on any visit to The Gambia.
