My wife and I visited Spain for the first time in February 2024 and hired Yanina for 6 days of birding. We covered the wetlands and steppe near Valencia, then traveled north to the Pyrenees for vulture photography. I came prepared with a list of species I was hoping to see and Yanina worked hard to try and find as many as she could. She provides great conversation and was very informative in regard to local history, Spanish culture, food recommendations, and local as well as country wide bird conservation efforts. She has many bird connections and if trying to find a species that is proving difficult, she can check in with colleagues to see if they are having any luck in the area. Yanina was also accommodating with bathroom or supply stops during our trip and the lodging she choose for us in El Saler and Baro were of high quality. Her rates are fair, and we are planning on returning during the summer months some day and will absolutely hire her again. Her website includes options for hide photography and she has connections to hide opportunities with other species upon request. Some highlights of our trip were great views of Black Wheatear, Black Stork, Great Bustard, Black-bellied Sandgrouse, an unexpected flock of 100+ Common Crane, very close views of Cinereous, Bearded and Eurasian Griffon Vulture, and the fantastic food options at the hotel in Baro. I'd been dreaming of visiting this country for years, with a particular focus being the Bearded Vulture. Yanina delivered an amazing experience, and we loved our week spent in her company.
