Note that the area around the spit proper is strictly on-trail only with no dogs allowed.

There is picnicing, a nice beach and dog off-leash areas, both beach/water and a fenced area here as well.

The only road in and out of the area crosses an at-grade railway track, which can sometimes cause quite a wait.
