SoñArte Reserva Natural

4.38846 , -75.68960

Colombia

SoñArte is a private reserve in the heart of Colombia's coffee region. It is located in the department of Quindio, in the town of Cordoba, in a former family coffee farm. The new generation of the farm's owners, wanting to keep their land despite the diffcult coffee business, decided to combine sustainable agricultural production, protection of natural areas and ecotourism. In its more than 40 ha, SoñArte counts with a respectable bird-list of around 200 species typical of the "cultural coffee landscape", few of them endemic. The bird-list has great potential to be expanded, as there are not many records yet in eBird. The reserve has well-maintained trails crossing coffee plantations and native forests in regeneration, which can be great for birding, hiking and enjoying superb views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The outstanding accommodation and restaurants of the SoñArte brand, the easy access, and its location in a region with modern facilities and tourist attractions, make it a great option for the leisure birder or for the non-birder companions. More information about the SoñArte project can be found here.
