Early morning and late evening are the best times for birdwatching. 

From University Ave., turn onto Park Road. Turn again to park at the Rim Park complex, which has other attractions there along with a path that goes down the road to the Golf Course where other parking is available.

Trails are open dawn to dusk, no access fee/permits required. You can park at the Rim Park Complex and walk over, or park at the Golf Course and enter from there. You can also enter from the other side of the trail from Grand River drive.
