This area is farmland that is bordered by the Caroni River on the western and southern edges, and teh San Juan River on the east. The Caroni Swamp also begins to the south of the area.

The best times to birdwatch here are early morning from 6-9 AM and late afternoon from 3-6 PM. It is best birded via car along the road as farm plots are private access.

Birdwatching is good any time of the year but is best during winter rmigration when you can find rarities like Sora, Wilson's Snipe, Hdsonian godwit and Snail Kite occassionally.

• recommended routes / areas within the site
