RN Rancho Camaná

Colombia

Rancho Camaná is a private reserve located at the foot of the Andes near Villavicencio, 3 hours from Bogotá. It offers comfortable accommodation and tasty meals for guests. The reserve itself is a bit less than 2 ha in size and mostly consists of forest in regeneration. Almost 300 bird species have been recorded in the reserve and the close vicinity, but a hardcore birder will probably find few of his targes species here. Photographers and recreational birders, however, will find plenty of interesting birds at the feeders and in the garden and forest. Rancho Camaná is also a great starting point for exploring birding sites nearby, like Bosque Bavaria or Camino Montfortiano, and as a stopover site before venturing into the Llanos or into the Amazon. The owners of Rancho Camaná also have a foundation that works for conservation, nature education and community tourism in the region.
