Flying Fish Cove is the main beach area in the township on Christmas Island. A visit to this location will provide good views of Red-footed boobies, roosting and in flight, Brown Boobies, Christmas Island & Great Frigatebirds, Red-tailed & White-tailed tropicbirds, including our mesmerising golden morph. 

This is quite an open area, with comfortable access and seats to relax in whilst viewing the birds. 

Dont forget to look back up the escarpment where you will see many roosting and nesting birds. Late afternoon will provide views of our endemic Flying Fox.
