Best season depends on what you want to see. During winter you can find several species of woodpeckers along the trail as well as long-tailed tits. During spring and autumn, you may find a lot of waterfowls and sometimes waders too. During late May - June, you should visit here during midnight, to hear nocturnal singers. Raptors are also common from spring to autumn, some of them around the year.

You should reserve at least an hour to visit here.

The nearest bus stop is close to the parking lot, take the bus number 67 from Valkeakoski.

This place is also good for mammal watchers, you may see several species of bats, voles and shrews here. Of the bigger mammals, the white-tailed deer and roe deer are common. And if you are lucky you may see a lynx - or any other big predator, all of them have been seen here.
