In 2010, an area management and use plan was completed for Lake Saarioisjärvi. The plan was prepared for the years 2011–2021, and it was made in cooperation with the area's landowners and organizations operating in the area.

Best season depends on what you want to see. During winter you can find several species of woodpeckers along the trail as well as long-tailed tits. During spring and autumn, you may find a lot of waterfowls and sometimes waders too. During late May - June, you should visit here during midnight, to listen night singers. Raptors are also common from spring to autumn, some of them around the year.

You should reserve at least an hour to visit here.

If you come by car, you may navigate to address Jutikkalantie 98, 37770 Valkeakoski. The parking lot is also visible in Google maps.

The nearest bus stop is close to parking lot, take the bus number 67 from Valkeakoski.

Follow the trail from parking lot the Lapinnokka birdwatching tower. The distance from parking lot to tower is about 600 metres.

This place is also good for mammal watchers, you may see several species of bats, voles and shrews here. Of the bigger mammals, the white-tailed deers and roe deers are common. And if you are lucky you may see a lynx - or any other big predator, all of them have been seen here.
