A big former production Salt Pond, partially man made, surrounded by mangroves. It has a very rich biodiversity.

It sits inside a protected nature area and a large variety of birds can be found here acoording to the season, shorebirds in winter, Terns in spring.

It is an important bird watching area

The pond is adjacent to two beaches so non birding companions could visit the beach. The main beach is Orient Beach with many restaurants and chair rental, including a nude beach on the eastern side.

there are no facilities around the pond, but on the adjacent Orient Beach there are plenty of bar and resrtaurants with toilet facilities

Along the main dirt roads caravans of ATV tours will noisily pass. when visiting the part that is called Gallion Beach, always park with other cars, breakins occur in cars that stand alone
