The ranger station is open all year around. Best time for birdwatching is between end of november and end of may. Minimun you have to spend 2 to 3 nights n the place. 

Recommend to arrive with a 4 wheels drive especialy during the raining season

From La Fortuna town takes the road towars La tigra. After the hotel Heliconia on your right you will takes the road direction Bosque eterno de los ninos. It will takes around one hour from La fortuna

There is a Ranger station where you will have the possibility to sleep. The station offers 7 rooms with private bathroom and a restaurant in site. 

The site is very safe, you can leaves all your stuff in the room without any problem. 

In the place there are several species of venemous snakes, be carefull especially if you go out at night in the forest
