Home to a good number of the South Texas specialties, this state park offers great birding and recently was host to the famous Spotted Rail, and was also briefly visited by a Hook-billed Kite.  This park offers great views of diverse habitats and is a great place to stop if you are in the San Antonio area. Keep check of recent reports for a wide range of rarities such as Black-throated Gray Warbler or Long-tailed Duck.

$5 per adult, under 12 is free to enter the park, and it can be paid online or in person. Open year-round. Hours are 6am - 10pm.

Restrooms are available.  There is a bird blind with feeders as well that attracts a lot of local birds.  This provides great up close shots of Green Jays.
