Húsvík on Tjörnes is basically a sea view site where you should expect to wait for migrating birds to show up. You can for instance expect Great Skuas passing by every half an hour or so in the time period from early April through September. Some of the Skuas will fly very close to observers and thus offer good photographic possibilities, while other will be further away. Northern Gannets behave similarly to the Great Skuas, but are rarely close enough for good photographs. Variety of migrating birds of other species is generally quite good. Snow Buntings and Northern Wheatears are relatively easy to find in this neighborhood. There is a track richt out to the viewing point, suitable for any 4WD vehicle if dry. If wet, it is usually better to walk to the viewing point.
