Kimana santuary is located in the south eastern kenya in an area in between amboseli national park and the tsavo areas,apart being  a migration corridor for the jumbos and other wildlife it is a breeding site for the range restricted endemic,the taveta weaver,the land is communally owned by the local maasai but recently leased and owned by a new management of big life international,the santuary is slightly a mix habitat of yellow fever woodlands,swamps and dry scrub supporting a range of bird species and mammals,being less visited and pristine it is a very ideal site to enjoy un interrupted birding all day long,birds here include several kingfishers,egrets,larks ,cisticolas,raptors,sunbirds,weavers and several migrant warblers

if you are driving from nairobi,just off emali town centre,take the oloitoktok emali road on your right,drive approximately 100 km to the township of isinet,just past that small town on your left you will see a big sign bord,go straight to the gate

if you are using public transport from nairobi,go to OTC bust terminal,then take the minibuses from naekana sacco going to loitoktok and tarakea border,tell the driver to drop you off at kimana santuary

if you are coming from tarakea/taveta road take local minibuses /drive past kimana town ,on your way to isinet town you will see the sign board to kimana santuary
