Nairobi National Park lies 10 kilometers (6 miles)south of the heart of the capital city Nairobi. The park was introduced in the year 1946. The combination of available water and a moderate climate (neither too hot and dry nor too cold and wet) has made this transition zone an important area for wildlife. Despite its close proximity to the city and comparatively small size, Nairobi National Park boasts a large and varied wildlife population. Nairobi National Park is undoubtedly known for its spectacular scenery, diverse habitats, abundance of bird species, and lots of very special and unique birds and wildlife. More than 500 bird species have been recorded in the park

  •  Acacia-dominated woodland,
  • Riverine& Scrub,
  • Dams, Rivers, and Wetlands,

Birding in Nairobi National Park is effective all year round, an early start is usually suggested to achieve more bird species, starting at 6:30 am in the morning to 5:30 pm in the evening will enable a birder to cover most of the park's habitat. For a seamless birding experience  in the park, a 4x4 vehicle is ideal, a rare or a must-see bird may be hidden at the farthest end of  the track, also when it's raining the roads may be slippery

Give recommendations for making your visit as productive as possible.
This may include for instance:
• best season
• best time of the day
• how much time to spend at the site
• best means of locomotion within the site
• recommended routes / areas within the site
• guiding
