A very pleasent park to stroll in. The park is largely landscaped and many people come to exercise though more so on the weekends.

Mornings are always best. 2-3 hours is normally enough as it gets pretty hot when skies are clear.

There is a small waterfall area within a build up jungle like area not far from Chinese Gardens. This is the best area for passage migrants. For the most part the park is more openly vegetated.

Some good migrants do pass through, though not in as good numbers as the major parks in the inner city.

Regular migrants in mid winter: Brown Shrike, Yellow-browed Warbler, Gray-headed Canary Flycatcher, Ashy Drongo, Black-capped Kingfisher, Asian Brown Flycatcher, Taiga Flycatcher, Black-naped Monarch, Yellow Wagtail, Blue-tailed Bee-eater.

Rarer migrants: Violet and Emerald Cuckoo, Large-hawk Cuckoo, Blyth's Paradise Flycatcher, White's Thrush, Blue-white Flycatcher, Black-winged Cuckoo-Shrike, Chestnut-flanked Whiteeye.

Resident birds: Small Minivet, Pink-necked Green Pigeon, Coppersmith Barbet, Spotted and Asian Barred Owlet, Indochinese Roller, Dark-necked Tailorbird, Brown-throated and Olive-backed Sunbird, Scarlet-backed Flowerpecker, Streak-eared and Yellow-vented Bulbul, Common Iora, Magpie Robin, Great Myna.
