Lake mburo national park is a wildlife sanctuary established in 1983 and covers an area of 260 sq km, located in kiruhura district in western region just about 240km from the main city of kampala.The park has a Ramsar wetland and also is an important bird area with over 300 bird species recorded.The habitat is typically of swamps,marshes,lakes ,dry grassy plains and acacia woodlands.Gems such as black billed barbets,shoebill and secretive african finfoot lives here.The park is home to 8 of the 12 lake Victoria basin biome endemic species

The entrance fees for non resident is 40 usd  fr adults and 20 usd for children and for east african residets is 20000 ugx,non resident is 30 usd
